Valentine

Daddy loves you every day.
You are my son. It’s just that way.

No matter what, I’m all for you.
‘Cuz that is just what Daddies do.

No matter how much time we share
You need to know I’m always there.

I’m thinking of you all day long,
You make me want to write a song.

The song would be about the way
I want to hear the things you say.

Or it might be just how to say
I love you in a different way.

Just like this poem is a way,
To tell you on this special day:

I love you. No matter what.

Tiny Little Souvenirs

Fingerprints upon the wall,
Shoes you left there in the hall,
Things that said that you were here
My tiny little souvenirs.

A toy that waits for you to play,
It’s been there now for several days,
You’ll pick it up when you are here,
A tiny little souvenir.

Others don’t know what it means,
And think that I should stop and clean,
Those things that say that you were here,
My tiny little souvenirs.
